FRP/GRP Grating Supplier in India
Grandform Fiber supplies FRP/GRP gratings for industrial flooring, walkways, platforms, trench covers and wet or corrosive environments. Standard and customised options are available based on product availability and project requirements.
What Are FRP Gratings?
FRP grating (Fibre Reinforced Plastic grating), also called GRP grating, is an open-mesh flooring panel made from high-strength E-glass fibre reinforcement encapsulated in a thermosetting resin matrix.
The result is a one-piece composite panel that can carry substantial loads while resisting rust and corrosion. Because the resin encapsulates the glass reinforcement, FRP grating offers good resistance to moisture and many chemicals, depending on the resin system selected — conditions that typically shorten the life of mild steel and galvanised grating.
Grandform Fiber supplies FRP grating in selected panel sizes, thicknesses, mesh configurations and surface finishes based on product availability and project requirements.

FRP Grating Options
Grating constructions commonly specified for industrial flooring, walkway and platform requirements. Availability is confirmed at the enquiry stage.
Moulded FRP Grating
Bi-directional strength with good corrosion and impact resistance. The most widely used option for walkways, platforms and drain covers.
Pultruded FRP Grating
Uni-directional bearing bars with high glass content, generally selected for longer spans and heavier point loads.
Covered / Solid Top Grating
Grating with a bonded solid or gritted plate top surface — used where spillage, small tools or fine debris must not fall through.
Mini-Mesh Grating
Closer mesh spacing, suitable where heel safety and retention of small objects are a consideration, such as public walkways and food processing areas.
FRP Stair Treads & Nosing
Stair treads with a contrasting safety nosing, used for staircases, ladders and access platforms. Available based on product availability.
Custom Size Requirements
Different panel sizes, thicknesses and configurations can be arranged based on product availability and project requirements.

Key Benefits of FRP Grating Over Steel
- Corrosion resistant — suitable for many environments exposed to moisture, chemicals and corrosive conditions, depending on the resin system selected.
- Lightweight — lower weight compared with many conventional metallic alternatives can simplify handling and installation.
- High strength-to-weight ratio — designed to provide useful structural performance while remaining comparatively lightweight.
- Anti-slip surface options — gritted and concave top finishes are available to help improve grip in wet or oily conditions.
- Electrical non-conductivity — suitable for applications where electrical conductivity is a concern.
- Low maintenance — FRP does not rust like conventional steel and can reduce painting and corrosion-related maintenance requirements.
- Long service life — corrosion resistance and reduced maintenance requirements can help lower lifecycle costs in suitable applications.
FRP Grating Applications & Industries
FRP gratings are commonly used in applications where corrosion, moisture, chemicals or electrical conductivity make conventional metallic flooring less suitable.

FRP Grating — Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between moulded and pultruded FRP grating?
Moulded grating has equal strength in both directions and higher corrosion and impact resistance, making it ideal for shorter spans and general walkways. Pultruded grating uses high glass content bearing bars in one direction, so it performs better over long spans and heavy point loads.
How long does FRP grating last?
FRP grating does not rust like conventional steel, which can support a long service life with low maintenance. Actual service life depends on the resin system selected, loading and exposure conditions, so a fixed service life cannot be stated.
Can FRP grating be cut on site?
Panels can generally be cut using a diamond or carbide blade, and cut edges should be sealed with resin to maintain the corrosion barrier. Pre-cut sizes may be available based on product availability and project requirement.
Is FRP grating anti-slip?
Concave and gritted top surfaces are commonly available and are intended to improve grip in wet or oily conditions. The surface finish should be selected and confirmed based on the application.
What sizes and colours are available?
Panel size, thickness, mesh configuration, surface finish and colour vary by grating type. Available options are confirmed at the enquiry stage based on product availability and project requirement.
Do you supply FRP grating clips and accessories?
Fixing clips, edge banding and stair tread nosing can be supplied along with the panels, available based on the selected product type and project requirement.
